spacer When you're using your only phone line to surf the net, that line is completely tied up. Call Waiting won't help, and if you have voice mail, you won't know about any messages until you get off the line. That means people calling you get a busy signal or your voice mail, and you don't even know they called. Some of those calls could be important or even urgent - perhaps a call from a family member, client, customer, your boss - anyone! Did you know that approximately one third of all calls placed to households with Internet service receive a busy signal because someone is on the Internet at the time? That mean's you're missing a third of your busy calls right now!   Think you could use Internet Call Waiting ? - read on.

Internet Call Manager Solves Your Busy Phone Line Problem!

You instantly see the name and number of callers trying to reach you while you're on the Internet, and you don't need Caller ID service from your telephone company. A simple pop-up window makes it easy to see who's calling and gives you several ways to handle the call.   You'll have Internet Call Waiting, rather that having your modem totally tying up your phone line.

Internet Call Manager Gives You All This ;

  • Caller-ID with name and number - you know exactly who's calling with both name and number displayed - and you do not need to subscribe to the Caller-ID feature from your local telephone company.

  • Call Logging - all calls you receive are stored in sequence for you to review, including the caller's name and number.  The list of callers is stored on your hard disk, allowing you to build a handy reference of numbers over time.

  • Free software - Your Internet Call Manager software is free, and does not require any particular type of web browser or other software.  It works with any Internet Service Provider, and AOL.

  • Call Management features - we've got a great lineup of call management features to offer.

Call Waiting on Internet
- Thanks Again!
About this page:

Hello, this page is here for one reason.   1) The nice people at Internet Call Manager give me a free months usage for each referral from this page. All of the above graphics are coded links to the ICM, Internet Call Manager, site. So please Bookmark This Page & if you decide to use ICM, make this page your access point to sign up and I will/should receive credit for the referral.

Reason I found ICM:

I've tried the phone company CallWaitingID service, I've tried different modem settings, formats. V.90, V.34, K56, Win95 & Windows 98. I've tried & tried to get my Zoom modems to drop when a call came and I was surfing the internet.   Just could not get the modem to let the calls thru.   Bought a Sony telephone with call-waiting ID... it only works if you are using the phone, then it will see a call waiting signal and report the ID.   Tried several Call Waiting Win95 software programs... same deal, they don't work while your connected thru your modem.   I needed some sort of Internet Call Waiting software program.

That's were Internet Call Manager caught my attention.   I had spent way too much time and effort and expense too, trying to achieve a working Internet Call Waiting program, or create a Modem Line Drop when someone calls.   I'll admit - I'm an internet addict, an internet junkie, I spend way too much time connected.   Internet Call Manager has become my enabler!.

Epilog:

I could ramble on about how great it is, but I won't - It Works - It Works Great... just try it - if you don't like it, cancel it... most you can lose is nothing or maybe five bucks.   Most of us can't really afford to miss a phone call.   It could be a neighbor, friend, or family member in a dire medical emergency - or maybe Publishers Clearing House calling your to award that Ten Million Dollars in prize money!.   Internet Call Manager,   "You'll Love it".   But Please Remember, do sign up with this page as your starting point - it doesn't cost you anything extra and you will be doing me a favor.

Thank You !

PS:   The free trial period is Not one of those things that you sign up for and then must remember to cancel otherwise you get billed.   With the Internet Call Manager, Once you've tried it out, then you must actually order it to keep it.

JULY 18, 1999 -- Speak Freely Internet Telephone, announced that John Draper, the famous phone phreak from the early 1970's who called himself Captain Crunch, made his first Internet phone call on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 from Bombay, India, to Cameron Park, California, where Brian C. Wiles received the call.

Crunch said; "the best connection I've ever had, for an international phone call, no clicks, pops, or white noise, just clear Hi Fi audio."

This was the first ever call that Crunch had made over the Internet for free, as well as the first legally free International voice call that Crunch had made as far as U.S. laws are concerned.

Draper gained fame and reached celebrity status while the FBi chased, searched for & finally prosecuted him for making free long distance calls - he was using pay phones, tooting out dialing tones with a Capt Crunch toy whistle - a cereal box prize.

SpeakFreely.org - Free internet telephone software. - works great with just your soundcard, a microphone & something like ICQ for an IP number finder.

Free Phone Calls - It can seem puzzling sometimes, trying to figure out all the new Internet Telephony,  Web to Phone, PC to PC, etc... this talking over the internet stuff sure is confusing. Take a look at what I've been using lately, a little info with a lot of impact.
It's not difficult at all.   (bottom of linked page)

GTE Telephone / GTE Internetworking - Dial-up Web/Internet access has announced a nice price reduction for their DSL services (Digital Subscriber Line).

Many web surfers are inquiring     ...here's...     web-found sniplets;
(did this quick ... might research better tomorrow?)

GTEI or GTE Internetworking DSL Internet Access Features:

  • As much as 25 times faster than 56K modems
  • Dedicated link to GTE Internetworking
  • "Always-on" connection to the Internet
  • Works on your regular phone line
  • Phone or fax & work the Web
  • E-mail account with 5MB of storage space
  • Dynamic IP Address
  • Not available WinNT ... yet.
  • $ - $49.95mo with GTE.net as ISP, or $32.50 & your ISP.
    • Requires
    • Pentium class CPU
    • Browser supporting DSL functionally
    • Hard Disk space for that browser too.
    • Network Interface Card (NIC*) is required in your computer to interface with the modem*.
    • DSL is distance-sensitive;
        you must reside within a specific distance from your central telephone office to utilize DSL.
*These two devices are connected with an cross over cable.

GTEi Note: We do not support Windows NT or Macintosh at this time. The only browser we support is Internet Explorer 4.0 on CD ROM for Windows 95 and Windows 98.

New GTE Residential DSL Pricing 8/2/99 3:32PM
Note the $140 install + $150/200 NIC & $300 purchase or $12 per month modem charges at the end of that page.

If it wasn't for the initial $640 in up front costs, I would seriously consider switching over to GTE's DSL.   But I'm concerned... all those costs not only are initially expensive, but down the road in time, DSL prices will drop drastically as we move more fully into digital telephones as the `normal standard.   Imagine, they'll be coming around soon.
