The 8th Annual "Clean Air" Bike Ride to benefit the American Lung Association of Florida, Gulfcoast Area will take place on Saturday - March 6, 2004


Fact Sheet

Event;
American Lung Association of Florida, Gulfcoast Area's event is a one day bike tour designed to promote clean air through cycling.   Riders can choose 12, 20, 48 or 100 miles.   Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature in the spring.

Where;
Withlacoochee State Trail through Citrus, Hernando and Pasco county in West Central Florida.   Starts at Ridge Manor Trailhead, 1 mile east of I-75 and State Road 50.   Our trail is the longest paved trail in Florida and listed in National Geographic’s Traveler Magazine as one of the top 20 trails in the United States.   The World Wildlife Fund says our trail is "one of the top 10 coolest places you’ve never seen".

When;
Saturday - March 6, 2004 with kickoff 7-9AM

Registration;
Entry Fee Registration is $23 ($12 for children 12 and under accompanied by adult) and includes commemorative t-shirt, continental breakfast from 7-9AM, light lunch from 11AM-2PM, as well as drinks and snacks.

Event t-shirts guaranteed to riders registered by Feburary 23, 2004.   Walk-up registration accepted, includes t-shirt. if available.

SAG Stops;
4 SAG stops along the route.   Restrooms also available.   Support ends at 3PM.

Pledges Optional
Incentives awarded to those who raise $100 or more.   Top three fund raisers will receive additional prizes.

Participants;
The average cyclist is a professional between the ages of 25-60.   The next largest group of riders are retired folks.   The event attracts an equal amount of males and females who are a group of recreational cyclists who are community-minded and fitness oriented.   A fun, friends & family `weekend outing.   844 smiling riders enjoyed the "Clean Air" Bike Ride last year.
